PrintFIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an organization committed to inspiring and motivating students to become tomorrow’s leaders in science, technology, engineering, and math. Through hands-on experience and real-world challenges, students in FIRST robotics programs learn teamwork, engineering concepts, leadership, and so much more!

The core values of FIRST, Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition, can be found in every aspect of the organization. By holding themselves to high standards of work and goodness, and by competing with an attitude of care and respect, FIRST team members gain invaluable life lessons that can be used in every part of their lives.

FIRST was founded by Dean Kamen in 1989 with only one robotics program for high school aged students, but has now expanded into four programs for students of all ages.

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) program, is the inaugural student program of FIRST. FRC teams are faced with the unique challenge of building a competitive robot to meet a game challenge in only six weeks.
